Hair Loss Treatment Safety Information
Hair Loss Treatments (Hair We Grow)
Important Safety Information
Your licensed healthcare provider may prescribe compounded oral treatments for androgenetic alopecia (such as “Hair We Grow”, combining finasteride, minoxidil, biotin, Vitamin D3, and Vitamin K2) following a clinical assessment. Compounded medications are prepared by state-licensed compounding pharmacies pursuant to a patient-specific prescription. While permitted under federal law, compounded drugs are not approved by the FDA and are not evaluated for safety, efficacy, or standard manufacturing consistency.
CRITICAL WARNING: PREGNANCY HAZARD
Hair loss medications containing finasteride are strictly contraindicated in women who are pregnant or may become pregnant.
- Exposure to finasteride during pregnancy can cause severe birth defects (abnormalities of external genitalia) in a male fetus.
- Women who are pregnant or planning pregnancy must never take these capsules and should not handle broken or crushed capsules.
Indications and Use
Prescription hair loss protocols (including Hair We Grow) are indicated for the treatment of male pattern hair loss (androgenetic alopecia) in adult men experiencing thinning hair at the crown and mid-scalp.
- Exclusively formulated and prescribed for adult men (18 years or older).
- Not indicated for women or pediatric patients.
- Not effective for patchy hair loss caused by alopecia areata, scarring alopecia, or untreated thyroid disorders.
Who Should Not Use This Medication
Do not use if you:
- Are a woman, especially pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding.
- Have a known allergy or hypersensitivity to finasteride, minoxidil, biotin, Vitamin D3, or Vitamin K2.
- Have a personal history of prostate cancer or severe hepatic impairment.
- Are under 18 years of age.
Before Using Hair Loss Treatment
Inform your healthcare provider if you:
- Have any liver conditions or abnormal liver enzyme tests.
- Have a history of cardiac arrhythmias, coronary artery disease, heart failure, or severe low blood pressure.
- Have a history of depression, anxiety, or suicidal ideation.
