Short answer: Semaglutide cost depends on the product. As listed on NovoCare Pharmacy in October 2026, brand-name Wegovy pens cost $349 a month for most doses ($199 for a new patient’s first 2 fills at the lowest doses), and the Wegovy pill costs $149 to $299 a month depending on the dose. Compounded semaglutide is sold by telehealth companies at their own prices, and our GLP-1 price comparison without insurance lists several of them. At PrescribedRX it is listed as “3 month plan $420 · $140/mo · Billed every 3 months. Cancel anytime.” Some companies list lower prices.

Every price below is as listed on the seller’s own site, checked on October 17, 2026. Prices and offers change, so confirm before you pay.

What does brand-name Wegovy cost without insurance?

Wegovy is a semaglutide brand made by Novo Nordisk (MedlinePlus: semaglutide injection). The Wegovy prescribing information lists use, with a reduced-calorie diet and more physical activity, to reduce excess body weight in adults with obesity, or with overweight plus at least one weight-related condition, among other uses (Wegovy prescribing information, rev. 06/2026).

Wegovy pen price

As listed on NovoCare’s site in October 2026, a month of Wegovy pens is 1 box of 4 pens. New patients pay $199 a month for the 0.25 mg and 0.5 mg doses for their first 2 monthly fills, an offer that runs through December 31, 2026. After that, the price is $349 a month for 0.25, 0.5, 1, 1.7 or 2.4 mg, and $399 a month for Wegovy HD 7.2 mg (NovoCare: Wegovy).

Wegovy pill price

NovoCare lists the Wegovy pill at $149 a month for 1.5 mg, $199 a month for 4 mg and $299 a month for 9 mg and 25 mg, with each month being 1 bottle of 30 tablets. The page does not list a separate new-patient price for the pill.

Brand prices rise as the dose goes up. Your provider sets the dose, so ask what the price will be at the doses in your plan, not just the first one.

What does Ozempic cost without insurance?

Ozempic is also semaglutide, but the Ozempic prescribing information lists different uses: use alongside diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes, and, in adults with type 2 diabetes who have certain heart or kidney conditions, to reduce the risk of specific cardiovascular and kidney outcomes (Ozempic prescribing information).

As listed on NovoCare’s Ozempic self-pay page in October 2026, a month of Ozempic is one pen (a 28-day supply). The 0.25 mg or 0.5 mg dose and the 1 mg dose are $349 a month, and the 2 mg dose is $499 a month. New patients who have never filled Ozempic through NovoCare can get the 0.25 or 0.5 mg dose for $199 for their first two 28-day fills, for prescriptions written by December 31, 2026. NovoCare says insurance is not accepted for this program and lists its other eligibility conditions on the page (NovoCare: Ozempic self-pay).

What does compounded semaglutide cost?

Compounded semaglutide is not the same as Wegovy or Ozempic. It is prepared by licensed compounding pharmacies, and each telehealth company sets its own price for it.

Our compounded semaglutide vs tirzepatide comparison explains how the two differ, and our semaglutide side effects guide covers what the Wegovy and Ozempic prescribing information reports.

What does PrescribedRX charge for semaglutide?

Here is how our compounded semaglutide plan appears on the site. Compounded medications are prepared by licensed pharmacies and are not FDA-approved.

PlanPrice as displayedDetails as listed
Semaglutide Injections, compounded3 month plan $420 · $140/mo · Billed every 3 months. Cancel anytime.2 months plus 1 free. Once weekly. Provider-dosed. Same price at every dose

What is included

  • The medication, filled by a licensed partner pharmacy. PrescribedRX is a telehealth platform, not a pharmacy.
  • Review of your intake by a state-licensed clinician through Telegra MD.
  • The same price at every dose; your provider sets the dose. The plan page says the checkout charge is the only charge until your renewal.

What to know before you order

  • Billing. Orders renew every 3 months, as shown next to the price. Cancel before a renewal date to avoid the next charge.
  • Labs. The plan page says your provider orders labs only if your history calls for it.
  • Not the lowest price. Some telehealth companies list lower prices for compounded semaglutide. Our dated price table, linked above, shows them.
  • Availability. Self-pay only, and availability varies by state.

A licensed provider decides whether it is appropriate for you. For tirzepatide, see our tirzepatide price breakdown, and for every treatment we offer, see our full price list.

Does insurance cover semaglutide?

Coverage depends on your plan, so check with your insurer. Two things are clear from the sellers’ own pages:

  • NovoCare’s self-pay prices are cash prices. Its Ozempic page says insurance is not accepted and that patients cannot submit a claim to an insurer for medication received through the program.
  • PrescribedRX is self-pay only and does not bill insurance.

What should you check before comparing semaglutide prices?

A “per month” figure can mean different things. Ask these questions of any seller, including us:

  • What is charged each time? “$140/mo” on our site is one $420 charge for a 3-month plan. Brand fills are charged per month.
  • How often are you billed? NovoCare fills cover 28 days (Ozempic) or one box or bottle (Wegovy). PrescribedRX bills every 3 months.
  • Is it an intro price? NovoCare’s $199 offers cover the first 2 fills at the lowest doses for new patients. Plan around the ongoing price.
  • Does the price change with the dose? Brand prices rise at higher doses. Some compounded plans, including ours, list one price at every dose.
  • Is there a membership or consult fee? Ask whether anything is billed on top of the medication before you pay.
  • Is the drug compounded? The seller should say so clearly.

FAQ

How much is semaglutide a month without insurance?

As listed on NovoCare in October 2026, Wegovy pens are $349 a month for most doses after the new-patient offer, the Wegovy pill is $149 to $299 a month by dose, and Ozempic is $349 or $499 a month by dose. Compounded semaglutide prices vary by seller.

Is compounded semaglutide the same as Wegovy?

No. Wegovy is a brand-name product made by Novo Nordisk. Compounded semaglutide is prepared by licensed compounding pharmacies, and each seller sets its own price.

Why does the price change with the dose?

That is how NovoCare prices its brands: the Wegovy pill and Ozempic list higher prices at higher doses, and the Wegovy HD dose costs more than the other pen doses. PrescribedRX lists the same price at every dose for its compounded plan.

How long do NovoCare’s $199 offers last?

NovoCare lists the Wegovy pen offer as running through December 31, 2026, for the first 2 monthly fills. The Ozempic offer applies to prescriptions written by December 31, 2026, for the first two 28-day fills. Both apply only to the lowest doses for new patients.
